Make sure to grab your tickets in advance!

We can't overstate how important to purchase your tickets in advance. At the time we're writing this article, LEGOLAND New York is offering a 50% discount on admission to the park on party days.

The party is not a separately ticketed event. The cost of your admission to the park for the day will cover all of the festivities. The park is open from 10am to 6pm most days the event is held. The party does not officially begin until about 3pm when you can begin your hunt for the treats.

At the party, you'll experience LEGOLAND transformed into a kid-friendly Halloween haven.

Feel free to dress up your family in your favorite costumes, and ride all of your favorite rides and attractions.

Our 5 favorite activities at LEGOLAND New York's Brick or Treat

There are so many fun activities for the whole family at LEGOLAND New York's Brick or Treat Halloween party, it was hard to pick which ones are our favorites. Here are five things we really enjoy at this Halloween event.

Take in the Atmosphere

Be sure to take your time enjoying the Halloween overlays and taking pictures at all of the photo opportunities. One of our favorites is the Duplo Pumpkin Patch.

Get Lost in the Wicked Hedge Maze

Your littles will enjoy navigating this easy to get through maze. See if you can find your way out without getting too spooked!

Add a Brick to the Mosaic

Stop by to help finish the giant Halloween mosaic by building out a LEGO® square and adding it to the mosaic. Team members are on hand to help you "paint" by the numbers using the LEGO pieces.

Ride the Rides!

Some rides even get a "spooky" makeover, like the Disco Dragon Coaster (usually the Dragon Coaster) gets a disco ball and a music track to match. Enjoy the lights and shimmy in your seat to the disco beats.

Trick or Treating!

This is really why you came - to collect treats from the 6 sweets locations throughout the park. And don't worry, LEGOLAND will provide a bag to help your littles collect all the goodies!

Should you stay overnight?

Should you plan to stay overnight at LEGOLAND New York to experience Brick or Treat in full? In our humble opinion, yes. Assuming you arrive for park open at 10 am and stay until 6 pm closing, you’ll likely feel exhausted by the end of the day. We highly recommend booking a stay at the LEGOLAND New York hotel or one of their Partner Hotels.

A major benefit to staying overnight is that you can go back to the park when it reopens the next morning to ride your favorite attractions again or see anything you missed. Your littles will surely want to experience their favorite rides and shows multiple times, and you will appreciate not having to drive home late at night. An overnight stay also means not having to rush from ride to ride to fit everything in one day.

The hotel packages that LEGOLAND offers can be attractive for some and do include breakfast among other unique offerings to hotel guests. The convenience of staying at the park can not be overstated.

If staying at LEGOLAND isn't your preference, they do have Partner Hotels that you can choose from that offer similar packages often at a cheaper price. The major consideration here is how far you're willing to drive for the less expensive stay.

Final Thoughts - Should Brick or Treat be on your must do list?

Well that depends on a few factors.

If your littles are at just the right age, you could possibly repeat this annually for a few years without it going stale. For our little group, we plan to make this an every other year visit, as long as our little guy is into either Halloween or LEGOs.

The other consideration of course is price, particularly if you decide to stay overnight. Here, our humble opinion is that staying overnight if you traveled around two hours to get here is probably the best course of action. The open question for you will be whether to stay at the LEGOLAND or Partner hotel.

No matter what you decide; to stay over night or not, we can highly recommend giving this Halloween party a try, particularly if your littles are into LEGOs. They will enjoy this Halloween party that is built with them in mind.

Enjoy the journey!
